Emily is a research assistant in the Child Physical Activity Health and Development. She has a Bachelor of Biomedical Science and Master of Public Health from the University of Western Australia. Emily completed her Masters thesis under the supervision of Professor Hayley Christian investigating the barriers and facilitators for priority populations implementing a physical activity policy (Play Active) in the early childhood education and care setting. Emily is involved in various projects that support the health and wellbeing of young children.


Emily is passionate about establishing healthy behaviours early in life to promote physical activity and other healthy behaviours throughout the life course. Her interests include how the built environment can influence young children’s health and development, particularly physical activity and the equity of health behaviour interventions for disadvantaged communities.
