Every big discovery starts with a small seed of curiosity. This National Science Week, step into The Kids Discovery Centre where budding scientists and curious young minds can craft their own paper research flowers, plant them in our Garden of Research and watch as we grow ideas that change children’s lives.

What's on

Garden of Research: Craft and plant a paper flower representing the life-changing research happening here at The Kids and help our research garden bloom. Snap and share a photo to enter the draw to win one of three family passes to Scitech.
Sew and grow a Balga tree: Learn how the Balga tree provides food –then sew your own.
- Special session (20 August): Thursday morning only – join Dr Janene Sproul from Murdoch University for a special guided workshop.
Researcher dress-up: Head to our dress up zone and step into the shoes of a researcher. Put on a mini lab coat, slide on safety goggles and strike a pose!
Find me quest: Learn about Djilba season and explore Waalbiirniny Waabiny Boodja outside at Perth Children’s Hospital to find native plants like the Balga (Grass Tree) - once you find the plants, place a sticker on your sheet.
