Project description
The Child and Parent Centre (CPC) program is a Western Australian (WA) State Government early childhood intervention led by the WA Department of Education, working collaboratively with the non-government community services sector and the Departments of Health and Communities. The program offers access to high-quality services, with the aims of increasing families’ capability to provide home environments for their children to thrive, supporting successful transitions and sustained engagement with schooling, and reducing developmental vulnerability. Drawing on data provided by the WA Department of Education and the Australian Early Development Census (AEDC), this evaluation examines a range of indicators concerning student and community outcomes over a seven-year operational period from 2015 to 2021, as well as the satisfaction of parents and carers. This evaluation also reviews the Department of Education’s CPC data collection and evaluation frameworks to improve the tracking of the program’s impact in the future.
