Language in Little Ones (LiLO)The Language in Little Ones (LiLO) study is a five-year longitudinal study (2017-2021), funded through the National Health and Medical Research Council. The study investigates the quantity and quality of language exposure in the home environment during the first five years of a child’s life.

How Caregivers Support Children’s Emotion Regulation: Construct Validation of the Parental Assistance With Child Emotion Regulation (PACER) QuestionnaireCaregivers play a crucial role in supporting the development of their children's emotion regulation. This study validated the Parental Assistance with Child Emotion Regulation (PACER) Questionnaire in a sample of 491 caregivers of young children ≤ 5 years.

The development and pilot of the university student embeddedness (USE) scale for student retention within universities: validation with an Australian student sampleA significant number of university students are leaving their institutions before completing their degrees. The present research project applied embeddedness theory, from organizational research, to understand student retention in a tertiary student population, and develop a quantitative instrument that measured university student embeddedness.

Initial findings from the Language in Little Ones (LiLO) study up to 12 months showed no word gap between maternal education groups.

The Impact of Bullying Victimization in Early Adolescence on Subsequent Psychosocial and Academic Outcomes across the Adolescent Period: A Systematic ReviewBullying is a widespread global issue, with serious consequences for victimized individuals. The current systematic review is the first to explore the consequences of bullying in early adolescence on psychological and academic functioning across the adolescent period. Five databases were examined, yielding 28 relevant studies.
