Preliminary validity evidence for a rapid fundamental movement skill assessment tool for primary education settingsAssessment of motor competence is critical for planning and monitoring children's development. However, many assessment tools require time, training, and resources not available to most teachers. We aimed to evaluate the external aspect of construct validity of a rapid product-oriented fundamental movement skill assessment tool designed specifically for primary education settings.

Type-2 diabetes epigenetic biomarkers: present status and future directions for global and Indigenous healthType-2 diabetes is a systemic condition with rising global prevalence, disproportionately affecting Indigenous communities worldwide. Recent advances in epigenomics methods, particularly in DNA methylation detection, have enabled the discovery of associations between epigenetic changes and Type-2 diabetes. In this review, we summarise DNA methylation profiling methods, and discuss how these technologies can facilitate the discovery of epigenomic biomarkers for Type-2 diabetes.

Suppression of TGF-β/SMAD signaling by an inner nuclear membrane phosphatase complexCytokines of the TGF-β superfamily control essential cell fate decisions via receptor regulated SMAD (R-SMAD) transcription factors. Ligand-induced R-SMAD phosphorylation in the cytosol triggers their activation and nuclear accumulation. We determine how R-SMADs are inactivated by dephosphorylation in the cell nucleus to counteract signaling by TGF-β superfamily ligands.

Antibiotic dysbiosis and probiotics trial on infants
This study explores the role of infant sleep in early childhood development.
Does the amount of eggs and peanuts a mother eats during pregnancy and breastfeeding have an influence on whether her baby will develop an egg or peanut food allergy?
This sub-project aims to fill the gap in knowledge of the effects of climate change on child health and wellbeing in Australia, and to propose data-driven adaptation trials to counter the most serious impacts.
